Re: Dealings with Sargent
I take it you mean this is for a Sargent tracker, when my alarm kept initiating at an unearthly hour, they couldn't of been more helpful.
I can guess it must be frustrating for you,but if ir's in the terms and conditions there's not a lot you can do.
Re: What are you all up to
Great day out today very warm and mostly sunny. Went to Sandringham a place we have always wanted to go to we had visited Balmoral a few years ago and always wanted to do sandringham. Ended up there most of the day done the tour of the house was great to see some of the rooms and the dining room where the family have Christmas dinner even saw the Kings char complete with his favourite cushion. The staff within the house were very helpful and knowledgable about the rooms and the items within them. After a walk round the grounds and the maze we done (the walk) that the family do on Christmas Day and visited the church. This part was a highlight for me as we watch them each Christmas morning attending church so was great to see this in real life. Great place would go back if ever back in this area and the gardens are beautiful. Also saw some of the cars the family have used over the years. Picked up fish and chips on way back to the van. Now just relaxing for a while but may venture down to the club house later for a pint
Re: What are you all up to
@Francis that looks a good motor museum, one we haven’t visited, so on the list next time we are in Norfolk. We usually go to around a dozen or so Classic Events a year, but only as viewers. I keep telling OH we ought to take something to show. He’s currently working on our MG, giving it a bit of TLC in terms of body work, and looking to replace dash and steering wheel, some trim.
Have you heard of The Motorist? It’s a big cafe cum classic workshop not far from Sherburn in Elmet, and they hold regular themed meets through the year. It’s worth a visit anyway, as the food is excellent, there are some fantastic vehicles in the cafe and adjacent show room, and it’s where they often film some of the Bangers and Cash Restoration programme, so there’s always something going on in the workshops.
One MG, in bits🤭 We bought it in 1994 and it was my every day work car for a while. We didn’t use it as much when we had three dogs, as it was impossible to get us all in, so it led a quieter life after 2000, now having a bit of TLC. OH is not relishing putting the windscreen back on, apparently an absolute nightmare to do.
Re: What are you all up to
@Takethedogalong the classic shows are great it’s good to be in the show to exhibit as you get to chat to a lot of people to be honest that’s the one of the only reasons i have my Mercedes it’s my “show car’ and I love taking it to shows. You would get a lot of interest in the MG I’m sure. Thanks for the recommendation I will look at the motorist. When you are down this way do visit the Caister museum it was great I’m sure you both would love it as it had a wide variety of cars we have been to many car museums and that one was in the top 5 for me
Re: What are you all up to
More confusion this morning as a text I received from Boots saying I had a prescription ready for collection turned out to be false but I only found out after making the trip into town to pick them up. They really are making a Pigs Ear out of this.
Matters turned for the better this afternoon as we met up my cousin and her husband for a meal in rural Cheshire. We haven't seen each other for about 4 months so had plenty to catch up on, with plenty of laughs along the way. The meal was great, an Indian curry cooked by an Indian chef in an English pub. I was also touched by the fact that our guests paid for the meal as a belated birthday present for reaching 70 last month.
@Francis - try a Broadside if you get the chance (Adnams).
Re: What are you all up to
@milliehull 🤣🤣
I had a go on just one thing.... the 'Deal on No Deal' machine. I won 4 tickets!! To give you some idea.... for 100 tickets you get one tiny (round, sugar) lollipop on a stick. So I guess 4 tickets is the equivalent of me being in the 1p club!! 🤣🤣

Re: What are you all up to
@Wherenext I’m sure I will get the chance I will make sure of it hehe
Excellent day here today nice weather so we took a trip to Caister and visited the classic motoring museum there what a wonderful place we were there around 4 hours they have a great selection of cars and motorbikes of all ages from the 1890s right up until the 2000s even had a Mercedes the same as mine lovely example I got chatting to one of the volunteers there who was very helpful and knowledgable about the cars. Admission price also gets you into the grounds of the castle and can walk up the stairs to the tower but we just had a quick run round as we had spent most of the time looking at the cars well I did SWMBO had a quick look then took herself off to look at their collection of porcelain. Came back to the van and cooked on the Cadac still sitting out now enjoying the sun with a pint of Guinness. Think we are going to head down to the club house soon for a drink
Re: CAMC app woes
I'm sure you are right, but if us old fuddy duddies are meant to get on board with future technology then it should be up to scratch.
The people on the end of the phone at camc have been nothing short of excellent - and as I write this, I'm realising that the phone call really is the best way forward. Thanks 👍
