Re: Yorkshire Dealership Recommendations
That’s why they end up dropping a clanger, not enough proper research done. 👍
Re: What’s your favourite way to keep kids entertained on long journeys?
Never travelled much with children, but we do have a few ways of keeping ourselves entertained…….(we are big kids🤭) You might need to adapt for age range of course
On motorways…Lorry Cricket! You get one run for who spots a supermarket lorry first, then you can allocate different run totals to other companies such as Norbert Dentresangle, Frigoscandia, Eddie Stobert, etc….. For us, the six was a Preston’s of Potto South of Sheffield!🤣
Variation, and a lot more fun…….Pub Cricket! A run for every leg in the pub name, so Fox and Goose would be six, you are on a winner with Coach and Horses, particularly if the pub has a sign showing a four in hand and passengers up top🤩 Extra run for things like a Unicorn’s Horn, Two extra runs for The Stags Head (antlers🤣) etc…… you might need a referee and someone keeping count though🤣🤣
Older children…….Radio Charades. Think of a film, then give a word clue puzzle. Example….one word film, clue ”pleased to have dined off a woman”………answer…..Gladiator🤣🤣🤣 it took my OH 30 mins to get that one🤭
Alternate names……..go through the alphabet, each person playing has to give a girls name, or a boys name, a bird a castle or big house or if you are oldies like us, car marques, so A is Allegro, B is Berlingo, C is Cortina, etc…… each player has to find a name for each letter, so it can get really hard.
We have whiled away some ten hour driving days with stuff like this🤭
Re: Yorkshire Dealership Recommendations
The OP seems to be collecting info across forums but I’ve yet to hear of him viewing a van or even asking about specific vans. It’s all rather vague at present.
Re: How to post photos on new discussion
The big leaves in bottom photo looks similar to mine TTDA SO POSSIBLY mine could be a Hollyhock …..
Re: How to post photos on new discussion
Then I think it is a hollyhock. It'll flower soon and confirm one way or the way. If you don't like it, you can pull it up before the seeds develop. I love mine, nice against a fence or wall, especially if you have a variety of colours.
ThThese Were growing in the crack between the garden boundary and the road opposite of holiday cottage in Norfolk. Not quite outback in June.
Re: Yorkshire Dealership Recommendations
One I would say do not use is Wandahome of South Cave. They had 5 weeks notice of my visit to pick up a new in stock Eriba caravan. I had travelled 320 miles from Devon/Cornwall borders, leaving home at 5.00am. A 1 hour handover became 4 hrs as they were not ready for me. The van had not had a full pdi and the roof was filthy, later taking me two hours to clean and polish. I found unsealed holes in the floor where the mover wires had been fitted, the "engineer" got a shock off the van when he went underneath [I believe it was static] and the habitation battery had to be replaced as the the case was damaged. Various little jobs also needed addressing. The specification on the van also differed to that advertised and I have only recently found out the expensive Garmin media unit is missing.
They are no longer an Eriba dealer, I wonder why?

Re: What are you all up to
We travelled from Cornwall up to Putts Corner (Sidmouth) on Monday. Met up with our youngest daughter and boyfriend yesterday ans after a bite to eat at the little cafe near Ness/ Shaldon, we thought we'd travel on a bit further and visit Paignton. Managed to get parked on the front, but a little too windy to sit on the beach. Instead we went for a walk on the pier - I don't remember the last time I even went near an amusement arcade..... 🤣🤣
......and can't believe who we met....
🤣🤣🤣

Re: What are you all up to
Good news and bad news. Typical. Good news is that Mrs.WN didn't fancy the frames the second time around so no expenses, yet. Bad news is that painter didn't turn up until nearly 5pm and he's going on his hols for 2 weeks on Friday! More frustrating is that if he'd told me he couldn't get here until late we would have gone back to the Electrics shop. Again, in the grand scheme of things its nothing but….
Have you got anymore appointments for the feet @Bakers2?
Received 2 appointments for the Kidney Nurse in September and October. Calendar these days filling up with more and more medical appointments. Will have to ring them tomorrow and rearrange September one.
