You are correct in that many folk do drive to Greece.
If you 'do' Facebook I can suggest a group that I found very helpful.
Its called Motorhoming in Europe after Brexit. Don't let the name put you off its very helpful and informative. Lots of those that post are full timers or at the very least long term travellers. They travel as far as Turkey and Morocco and are a wealth of tips including ferry crossings from Italy, Croatia and Albania.
Check them out you won't be disappointed.

You're welcome to put up a pup tent for the kids to sleep in on any of our club sites. Just make sure you book a standard pitch with awning. You don't need to have an awning but those pitches are bigger and will accommodate a tent.
