Re: Gas bottles
Me too, not very much of a problem even when it is raining. However I don't disconnect when travelling as I believe in touching the locking nut as little as possible.
Re: Time Warp
The biggest problem with CT is the number of 'content removed' posts.
I agree that some posts may be considered offensive or inappropriate, but many others that I've read prior to removal are, in my view, just opinions. Once you start to stifle opinion and debate then people will lose interest.
To make things worse, the post just hangs there with 'Content Removed' on it, making the poster feeling like they're on the naughty step, with everyone else wondering what was said. It would much better if the post was removed in its entirety.
Then theres the fact that CT is just old, clunky and years out of date. Its no wonder that younger members, used to the like of Facebook and Tik Tok, can't be bothered
Re: Time Warp
No point looking at Trust Pilot as the specific site being reviewed isn't mentioned. Totally worthless.
I do like checking on Latest Activity, not necessarily for comments but for reviews especially of CLs. Many a time my interest has been piqued by a review and I've checked it out and sometimes ended up staying at that CL because of what I've read.. Sometimes I've avoided one for the same reasons.
I do think we're also seeing a decline in posters due to them retiring from touring and some through passing away. They're not being replaced in any number so CT is contracting.
Re: What are you all up to
Day started off well. Door bell rang just before 9 am and a neighbour handed OH her winnings from a raffle that was made for people donating to a cancer charity. A nice CK travel bag and 6 free days at a Gym/Spa. She handed the free passes back asking for the participants who were the ones being sponsored for the charity event to be given them. They're younger and fitter than us so they'll get more use and deserve them.
We then visited our local Range and OH found one of those plastic storage box with 5 drawers in that she's being trying to find. Had to be a certain size and this one had 1" to spare.
So one happy bunny.🐰😃
Did I receive anything. Yep, a bowel screening kit and results from my consultant that I've waiting for. No happy bunny on this side of the bed.
Wish the "free" bus pass was UK wide and not just restricted to one country.
Re: What are you all up to
Having a bus pass is the only advantage of getting old. We only tend to use ours when we are away in the caravan. Last weekend we stayed on the CCC Braithwaite site a few miles outside Keswick. It was great to leave the car on site and jump on the bus only 50m from the entrance. A few minutes and you are in the middle of Keswick.
Re: What are you all up to
I had my uncles's house rewired when I inherited it in 2014. It has 2 rooms downstairs, plus kitchen, 2 bedrooms and a large bathroom and I seem to remember that it was around 2,500 and they charged around 150 extra to fit a shower over the bath! I think that I made the mistake of getting a number of quotes, instead of going for just the one.
Re: Gas bottles
I don't know much about the 'installed tanks', to be honest. I am a bit neurotic about gas though.... I'm one of these folk who switch off the gas at the cylinder as soon as we've finished cooking the meal, and I always disconnect the pipe from the bottle when we travel. It's a pity they haven't yet found a solution to the bottles having to be disguarded after 10 years. I wonder how long the metal bottles last before they are sent for scrap?

Happy birthday to TDA's OH, and good wishes for a speedy recovery to those with colds and sniffles... hope you are rid of it in time for Christmas.
For us is Christmas tree day... it usually goes up on 6th December... St Nicholas Day... Just about to start!!! 😀
