Re: What have you seen
Lovely day walking the coast path on Anglesey yesterday. Diving Sandwich Terns, a Red Squirrel on the club site just as we were leaving, 2 Razorbills feeding in a harbour area, Cuckoos, Swallows and House Martins, Spring Squill clinging to rocks.
Re: What are you all up to
I have to agree about hill walking (or Wainwright walking), as I am a fair weather stroller and not a serious hill walker or Wainwright bagger. Love the letter box toppers and very well done to the ladies from the WI. We have lots of them around here in Southport with hedgehogs and even an octopus with babies. I've been relatively lucky on most of my trips to the Lakes although I have had a couple of very wet nights and damp days on both of my trips to the Borrowdale site but it is such a lovely site that it was worth it, espeically the boat trips.
Re: Garden Snap Shots!
I had the same Clematis when we lived in Somerset and it got a bit rampant so had to prune it down to about 2 feet from the ground and it grew just as well the next year.
Putting some photos on here of some plants in the garden as I have more out at this time of year before the heat arrives.
Broomfield Farm East Sussex.
The new site is called Starve Wood Park which still offers a tranquil site with basic amenities as previous years.
Seasonal pitches are offered at a very reasonable cost of around £1600 depending on your choice of hardstanding or grass.

Re: Foot and Mouth Restrictions entering the EU
This topic came up on one of the farming programmes early in the morning on radio 4. There is much concern about the lack of checks at our ports and the issue is being raised.
The trouble is, if you don't eat and discard items, if it gets in the food chain it's the most awful disease and absolutely devastating for the farmer.
Please be responsible when returning.
At that said - have a fabulous time.
Re: Carrying bicycles inside - causing weaving?
I doubt anyone can truly help without knowing the size of the van, what is towing it, type of roads used and just how much over 50mph you were travelling, to be honest. Were they immobilised inside the caravan, was the weight evenly distributed, and how much actual payload were you carrying?
Put bluntly, five bikes, most of which are likely to be heavier MTB type, adult size, carried inside van does sound irresponsible. No doubt your family will have been with you inside this accident waiting to happen, not to mention other road users oblivious to you coming along. You need to do some thinking around better bike transportation to be safe next time out. Seen a number of caravans and cars overturn, and the results aren’t pretty!
Re: Cost of pitches
first was lakes of linden, second Beacon Leisure Centre at Burntisland. We had a good swim at the second, which obviously gave us a shower as well. Both on search 4 sites
Re: Garden Snap Shots!
The Montana Clematis has been in flower for a week or two now and looks really good. It grows along almost the entire length of our side fence facing out onto the road. The flowers on the road side of the fence take longer to come out as it faces almost north.

Re: What are you all up to
@heddlo it is just a couple of rooms completed ( well nearly ) but it has been a number of years since we did much at all and the rooms were looking rather tired, so have decided to gradually work through the house, bit by bit, between our trips away of course.
Today has been rather cloudy for the most part but it did brighten up in the late afternoon. It was an early morning visit to the bank, followed by a walk in the park, avoiding the Park Run "athletes", then back home to clean the inside of the car before getting it loaded, ready for the next trip. After lunch I sorted out a reduction in phone and mobile Wi-Fi contracts, so a time well spent.
