Re: What are you all up to
We’re on site doing nothing. An easy journey yesterday and initial setup. Then a few issues- first with power. I’m not sure what the problem/resolution was as OH sorted it. Much chuntering and fuse checking. Meanwhile I checked the various bottles were arranged artistically in the cupboard - whisky to the left and gin to the right . And wine chilling in the fridge.
The site is fairly full, but plenty of choice of pitches.

@milliehull - we too have someone similar to your recent retiree. A friend of MiL she still spends time at the local primary school taking reading lessons to 5&6 year olds and is part of the teaching group that looks after them when there is a school trip. She is in her 80s and still going strong. I think such people keep certain institutions going as staffing levels diminish.
Thought I'd pop into town to Boots Pharmacy to collect the balance of my prescription from Thursday. It was only a small bottle of tablets but the Pharmacist handed me not only those but a further months supply of half of my regular meds. "I've had this latest lot on Thursday" I said. "Well you must have ordered more" No, I didn't because I wouldn't just order half would I?" and so it went on until I gave in and accepted them as spares after making sure that the prescription that they're responsible for ordering was correct for next time. Why do some people find it hard to just say they, or someone in their company, has made a mistake? We all make mistakes from time to time. It's like admitting a weakness as opposed to a strength.
Washed the Van this afternoon. OH fed up with the weather not making its mind up. Sheets out on the line, then in, etc. Mixed bag of weather today.
Re: Tour de France 2025

Re: Wind out awning supply and fit.
Hi @KevinJordan. Like @richardandros, Ican thoroughly recommend Rose Awnings down in Poole. They supplied and fitted Thule windout awnings to our previous caravan as to our current one. Not sure where you are located, (we're in Tamworth), but we went down to a local site for a few days. We arrived on the Sunday, took the caravan in to John on the Monday when they fitted the brackets. (The brackets needed time to bond to the roof before he could fit the canopy tbe next day.). We then took the van back to the site overnight. On the Tuesday we went back for the canopy to be fitted.... job done.

Re: What are you all up to
A rather wet weekend here but it’s brightening up now. @Bakers2 that looks like a good haul, well done. I do miss my allotment, I haven’t got room for a veg patch but the yellow courgettes, grown in a tub, have been very prolific this year. I also have miniature runner beans in another 2 tubs. The plants are miniature but the beans are full size and there are loads of them.
Re: What are you all up to
Rain stopped, clouds clearing, sun's out temperature climbing.....
Took Dora out at 1415 cos she still hadn't asked! So, just a road walk. Still wasn't in a hurry, must have a cast iron bladder and bowel 😮.
Called at the veg patch on our way in. It's in the front garden behind the garage. And harvested my first veg for dinner. Cut another gherkin, neighbour gave me the plant, and planted it for me as my back was iffy 😘, believing it to be a cucumber. Only realised a couple of weeks later. So far, I missed them gherkin size, but they're good as a cucumber. But not for dinner later.

@Goldie146 have a good time.
@Wherenext lovely photo, good to see the confidence returning.
@milliehull do share what roses you choose👍
We have had a terrific downpour for around 20 minutes, first proper rain in months. I might even have to do some indoor chores today🥴
Re: What are you all up to
We are having gentle steady rain since about 0900. Everything is perking up in the garden. Dora hasn't asked to go out yet!
It's nice pottering indoors without a dog walk first. Wasn't sure I'd get away with it.... texted son and family in the South Lakes as its a novelty here. She replied saying they're fully hydrated where they are 🤐. Some around here are already harvesting barley, not her, obviously.
Happy holidays @Goldie146 - definitely deserved.
Glad you're home safely @KjellNN I agree about flying. Don't think we'll ever be do the NZ one again, relief and sadness. I doubt OH even be allowed short haul. He's had enough disappointment about not driving so we've not asked.....
@DavidKlyne good to hear from you. Keep up the good work, slow steady progress. Improvements can still happen after 6 or more years apparently. Don't give up. BUT do ensure things are in place before you head home - experience has taught me, 3 times, promises do not materialise without a lot of chasing.......
Good to read folks news, sorry not commented to each, but I've finished my cuppa so back to pottering. Gardening may even be possible this week 🤔😮🥰
