Winchester Christmas 2025 Market Dampervan Trip
Well, Winchester did not disappoint for our final dampervan trip for 2025, despite a horrendous wet and rainy journey on Thursday and setting up the van and awning in heavy rain. We stayed at the Winchester Morn club site for 3 nights and, it was perfectley placed for visiting the City and the wider area.
Saturday was a glorious sunny day we caught the bus into Winchester, which was a short walk from the campsite entrance,
just before lunch and spent the day wandering around the shops and then the Christmas Market. We had dinner in a lovely Italian restaurant before returning to the Christmas Market, where Myrtle managed not to buy something from every Chalet!!!
Sunday was another sunny day, a little colder than yesterday. We caught the bus back into the City, where we first visited the City Mill (National Trust) and joined the guided talk around the building. The rest of the day was spent wandering around the City and the Cathedral grounds. I was really glad we went to the Christmas Market yesterday, it was heaving, the queue was back around into the main street.
We returned back to the van before it got dark so we could fettle the van and de-rig ready for the journey home tomorrow. Now sat in the van toasty warm now, Myrtle watching the Strictly Come Dancing final, which she was lucky to attend in person in 2016.
