We are looking to go away for a couple of days over the New Year period.   Ideally, would like somewhere close to a village /pub  etc. so we can walk there  from the site with our dog.    Thinking of Scotland perhaps but open to other ideas.   Any suggestions or advice  of good sites to visit in the winter would be most welcome.

    Hi Bailey,

You may be too late for New year as most club sites will already be full and have been for months, you may have to look for either cl's or commercial sites.

Nah, don’t be fooled by the online availability calendars. I’ve booked us into Moreton in Marsh for New Year that was showing full. A call to the wardens, tell them we’re looking to stay 11 nights... soon found us a pitch :-)

No idea about what may be available in Scotland but replied to a similar query that one option is to look at what rallies are available.

We have been going to Devon & Cornwall New Year Rallies for the last 14 years and off on one again this year.

Hi bailey2013, Grantown on Spey may still have a pitch. Wee party in the Square in the run up to midnight. Stonehaven is another one, but that really has to be booked on the day next year's pitches come out. Unless there's maybe cancellation list. Cheers, Alex
