I was sad to leave Cambridge but the Human that I own wanted to head into London for some caravan show or another. I don't mind him going off as my doggie family lives in Hatfield and I go and visit my Mum, brothers, and sister while he swans off and does whatever it is he does.

Despite having been to Commons Wood on countless occasions, my human had never had the privilege of a canine companion before. So I insisted on taking him for a walk along the site's Dog Walk area.

Even I was amazed at the countless options of walks through the woodlands and countryside that are on offer from this site. At first glance it looks way too suburban to be any good for walking, but looks can be deceiving. I highly recommend it, although thanks to the show we never got to explore much of the local area. The Human liked the idea that Hatfield station is a short drive away, and trains to Kings Cross take just 20 minutes.

Catching up on the bloggs, very enjoyable.  I'm a small dog (but I own the world) and my Human won't let me go away in the Human's dad's caravan.

Hi Dougal inspired by you with the help of my human mum we have started to add our own tales. My mum reads the tales out so I get to hear them and enjoy them very much.

Hi Dougal, my home is in Welwyn Garden City, where the Commons Wood CC site is located.

There's great walks and runs that I take my human on all around that area particularly in the direction away from London including Sherrardspark Wood to the North west, an ancient woodland consisting mainly of sessile oak and hornbeam. In addition the farm
land all around WGC and Brocket Hall is crisscrossed with public footpaths. Barking of The hall, the pub bearing the arms of the hall make me very welcome as do most of the country pubs which aren't part of chains.

I hope you too enjoy the walks when you get your human to visit again.

    Best regards

    Bebe.
