There is a long running discussion about Rallys called are Rally attendees in decline.  I know because I have  contributed to it.  If I were someone who was maybe vaguely considering going on a Rally then there is no way I would even consider it because
of the negativity expressed there.  So I though why not a positive thread about Rallys?

To kick off I have unashamably lifted a post from Cardiffian  (Bob).  As far as I know I have never met Bob, we live at oppersite ends of the country Wales that isHappy.

wow! I'm sorry to hear members have had a negative experience on rallies. I can tell you that our first rally (early this year) was very important to us. We didn't know any one in our local centre, and never been on a rally before. So we were slightly
worried by how we would be greeted.

As we entered the rally field, the two rally marshals greeted us warmly (good start!). Then escorted us to our pitch, helped us set up and told us where their vans were in case we needed anything. All weekend we found no 'clique' but just members coming
forward to say hello.

Yes there was a meeting at the flag on the Sunday but you were not forced to go or made to feel like an outcast.

So the weekend ended and we made new friends and enjoyed ourselves. I have also been on rallies with other centres since then and hand on heart, have never been made to feel unwelcome.

And can I point out, not all rallies have games and things you must do! So please don't paint such a negative image of Club rallies.

His experiences of starting rallying last year  corresponds to our experiences when we started about eight or nine years ago.

I would say give it a go.  Don't worry about making a fool of yourselves if you don't want to join in then don't.  In reality people there a group of Friends and if you are friendly then they will be friendly back.  If you sit in your van with your blinds
drawn then they will proberlly think that you want to be left alone and respect your wishes.

Some of the experts who have never been on a rally think that there is some sort of secret agenda.  There is a Rally should be an enjoyable experience with good company.

So don't listen to the experts give it a go and make your own mind up. What's the worst that could happen you might actually enjoy it
