Didn’t isolate and disengage mover at storage

Hi all

We have just got back from a successful first weekend away in our new (second hand) Sprite Musketeer.

We dropped the caravan off at the storage yard for the first time, and now that I’ve gotten home I realise that I forgot to switch the isolator and disengage the motor mover. I was about to do it, then remembered that I needed to line up the wheels for the Alko lock, and then forgot to do it.

Do I need to rush back to the storage yard tomorrow to save myself from damaged tyres and a flat battery, or can it wait until the weekend? The mover is a power touch that you engage manually with a wheelbrace.

Thank you!

Mike

I would not worry about the tyres, and would think that a good battery will be fine for a few weeks.

Agreed. It won’t hurt for a few days.

My power touch mover automatically switches off the power after a short time, so if yours does the same the battery should be fine.

@agermich We've left ours like that for a week once and no problems, as Simon says (sorry) your remote will, should, switch off after a while.

Btw the isolator, if it's below the EHU in connector, is also there to stop you using the mover with EHU connected and on, as this will damage the unit inside the caravan - just in case you didn't know that. I think from previous posts when this happens the whole unit has to be replaced.

Thanks everyone. All very helpful - I’ll leave it until the weekend to pop back over and sort it out.

@Cornersteady the isolator key is indeed below the EHU connector, so it can’t be plugged in with the key in.
