Can't see the Woods for the snow at the moment. Feeling sorry for the poor birds trying to stock up on food. Those early arrivals will be ruing their haste and want to turn back and head for Africa.
Stay safe everyone especially those venturing out.

Just back from an interesting visit to NT Packwood House about 10 miles and 15 mins from Chapel Lane via the motorway. The house is Tudor, with later add ons. However, the new owner of the house in the 1900's extensively remodelled it, using material from the many similar properties that were being run down and demolished at the time. In fact he brought it back more in keeping with its Tudor roots. Although unusually for the 1920's installed en-suite bathrooms in all bedrooms. There was an interesting snippet about the owner in one of the rooms. Apparently he fought in WW1 in the Royal Flying Corp. However, after destroying four aircraft they transferred him to the observer ballon division, an ultra high risk occupation. Against the odds he survived.

It has been quite sunny here most of the day, warm sitting behind the south facing windows, but freezing outside, almost zero now. Went out to the van to sort some bits and it was freezing in there too as no heating on.
It was even cold with the electric fan heater on.
If we were flooded out we could easily go to a hotel as the insurance would be paying. If I suggested the caravan was a better idea in this weather, even on a serviced pitch, I can safely say OH would be telling me to go on my own!!
Actually, we would probably do neither in the long term as we have our 2 children not that far away who both have spare bedrooms.
Just hope the weather improves before we go away on our next trip!

I had to pop out and buy two cards today.
One for our 46th anniversary tomorrow and one for the OHs birthday on Tuesday.
At least I didn't need to buy any flowers we still have three vases full from Mothers Day.

Happy anniversary for Sunday neveramsure and birthday greetings for your OH on Tuesday. Just been catching up on posts over last few days.
Malcolm I hope you get your seasonal pitch sorted. Your debt should be cleared very soon if im reading the £5.60 per night cost of a seasonal pitch correctly. Once you get your electric smart car the club will make nothing from your fee 😉😲.

Congratulations Mr and Mrs Nevers. Hope you enjoy both celebrations.
Bitterly cold here with a biting wind and snow flurries and might be worse tomorrow. But I have had a really enjoyable day as I went on a music course about Russian composers. Lots of really interesting historical information about the composers and such wonderful music. OH went to watch grandson play football in the biting wind - they lost. I think I had the better day😊
I hope all of you away and travelling stay safe in this weather.
