What are you all up to

You could always go to the Railway pub for a drink and meal, Mr. Route!
It's not far from where you live!

Overcast here today first in 2 weeks so can't complain. Change over day today so lots of activity going on.
Lots of Irish folk here for this week, St Patrick day celebrations going on all weekend in the town/island.
Lazy morning so far, might go out after lunch to the bottom of the island, nice having a car to be able to that as buses can at times be a little unreliable.

The Shogun passed it's MOT. It was all done by 09:45 a.m. Then we took it back to the house address and swapped over for the Smart car. Following that, we drove to Lancing Railway Station so that my wife could catch the train to London for her dental appointment. I went back to the caravan from there.
I left for work about an hour ago but I've arrived early, so time to catch up with the posts on here.

Yes good idea. She'll be there this evening until 8 p.m.

Had to do a couple of hours at work this morning, so didn't leave for Dorset until lunchtime, but by then sun was shining and we had a good journey down. We arrived mid afternoon and have been relaxing in the warm sunshine.
Looking forward to exploring now. A trip to Rspb reserve at Arne is on our list.

Lovely day spent at the reserve. The birds knew it was time for displaying and singing.
Easy T, worth a visit. It's not too big and the reception area has big glass windows to look out over some pools with a tea and coffee machine. They also have a Herony which is populated with many Herons and Egrets. It would be a nice place to visit in about a months time for a mooch.
Enjoy Dorset Helen. Arne is a lovely reserve.
Off home tomorrow but have enjoyed the break.

Helen I hope you both have a lovely time and that the weather behaves itself.

We did go for that drive this afternoon as the sun came out and the clouds started to break up.
Another of our favourite places here is El Golfo and Los Hervideros, so that's where we headed for
The seas were very rough again with huge waves crashing on the rocks, after sitting watching them for awhile we carried on to Playa Blanca to drop in on our friends, who holiday there at the same time as us each year. Lovely couple of hours with them catching up on all the news since last year.

So,
Today we open the gates for our season to begin. It's been some hard graft this year getting everything ready, with a lot of weather damage, and a bit of vandalism to add. I've still got some pitches out as the grass didn't take properly last year but overall we're ready.
It will be interesting this weekend with the forecast not good but the site is well drained. Just had a last walk around and I'm fairly happy with our presentation, not brilliant but we've done what we can in the time allowed.
Bookings are looking good as usual so here's to another great season
Cheers all
JK

It was still busy at work last night when I was due to finish, so they asked me to do one more delivery for an extra 15 minutes pay!
After finishing work, we went to the house address to swap cars and drive the Shogun back to the site. So the Shogun is now parked next to our caravan ready to hitch up and go to our seasonal pitch in Worthing today.
My Pizza Hut pay was credited to my bank account today, yippee! A much welcome boost of funds. I get my state pension on Wednesday. I also received a letter notifying me of the forthcoming increase in my SP. Pay increase at Pizza Hut too coming next month because of increased minimum wage. Also more tax allowance. My Civil Service index linked pension will go up too. Savings in site fees start today because of our seasonal pitch. Things can only get better! Happy days!

You sound as though you had a lovely day yesterday Tammygirl. I am very envious that you are still there.
Whereabouts do you stay in Lanzarote? We used to stay in Playa Blanca.
Best of luck with the new season JollyKernow.

Out walking the boy's this morning, lovely and bright, and quite warm.
And the first signs that Spring is gathering pace judging by the look of theses flowering cherry trees in the park.

We were out last night, I noticed a familiar figure sitting behind me, I resisted the urge to turn round and chat about Blue Peter....(Valerie S.)
Good luck JollyKernow, hope you have a good season. Wish the weather would make up it's mind, we haven't been able to cut our grass yet but it hasn't grown much either due to the cold spell.
Hope you enjoy the Arne visit Helen, it is such a lovely reserve, I expect you'll see quite a few sika deer.

Getting packed at the moment. Most of the stuff is being packed into the Shogun with its roofbox as well! It keeps the caravan lighter when travelling!
We have also got started on taking the awning down and packing it away, folding awning carpet and packing that away too!

Yes, we too have noticed more trees with pink blossom all along Goring Road.

Day off from work today which is just as well, seeing that it's moving day!

And you still have time to be on here. Does it now mean that once you set up on your seasonal pitch there is no more moving around, because the extra money you are saving will enable you to spend 2 nights at a decent BB, save your wife from having to pack things away.
