Last night I thought the discussion on this thread was amiable and interesting and perhaps I had been mistaken for withdrawing from the thread but 11 posts in 4 hours just shows that original prognosis was correct, so there’s an end to it.

Same here Oneputt, even though I feel the staff and moderators have tried their best I wouldn't want them to spend too much time having to sort things out.

It has the makings of a good social thread but can't function under these circumstances.

Brue and Oneputt, today is another day, rise above and use this thread as it should be, a place for friendly banter and chit chat.

The earlier postings have shown a total disregard and disrespect to other peoples feelings, but we are better than that and can move on.

Although I agree with you Oneputt and Brue, and have often thought about stopping posting, I don't like the idea that a certain poster has driven me off CT and won. Hope you will still post sometimes, I for one enjoy reading about everyone's adventures and chatting to " friends" on here.☺

Maybe but many of those posts were in response to other posts - and one report

Like I said, Oneputt, l wasn't available to participate in last nights discussion because I was at work at that time and even on my evenings off, I prefer to relax, listen to music and have a drink and meal. So I hardly ever post in the evenings. However, I do try to catch up on here after I have had sufficient sleep at night and wake up because I can't sleep any more, which is sometimes in the early hours when everyone else on here happens to be asleep.

Like Deleted User User has correctly commented, people on this forum need to be less antagonistic.

It seems to me that the staff and moderators acted in the way that they did because you tried to stir things up with them by pressing the report button. You were advised before by a moderator NOT to post on here about your intention to report but you continued to ignore that advice, brue. You announced that you had reported to everyone on here, so we all know who is to blame for the accusations that were levelled against me.

Rain has turned heavier so have decided to forgo the trip to the beach, can't see much out of steaming windows.

Will plan holidays, we never book anything more than a month away and have always found somewhere.

Where have you booked for this year, what made you chose that location, how many weeks do you intend being away for and how often, love to hear peoples stories.

Exactly, EasyT. Thank you for your understanding. It's a pity that others on here, appear to be, as IanH once said, 'hard of understanding' and in need of that message to be continually repeated to them.

I had to do deliveries last night, cariadon, in the pouring rain with the car windows getting steamed up thereby reducing visibility even further. All the other delivery drivers experienced the same problem. I had no choice. I was on the rota and had to go out delivering regardless of the weather! So I know what you mean.

For me, this year, it's Northbrook Farm, Worthing for the summer and Gatwick for the winter.  We have a couple of nights booked in Littlehampton after the first 21 nights at Northbrook Farm and another couple of nights at Litllehampton after the following 21 nights. The locations were chosen because of having purchased seasonal pitches there.

We can't book far ahead as farming must come first. Maybe that's why we have had so many rainy holidays  . . . .

I would like to go to Northumbria this year (I love the locations in "Vera"). For the past few years for our main (or sometimes only) holiday we have gone to New England Bay. For a quick last minute weekend we usually go to Englethwaite Hall.

Fitting breaks in between silaging etc, shows (either entering or my son judging) and family coming to stay with us is like a jigsaw.

And our long term plan is to go to the north of Scotland, but even from Cumbria it's a long way, so maybe next year (or the year after) when we know we won't be missed.

The problem, cariadon, is that people are making their adverse comments on this thread and that is why I am responding to them on this thread.

I too would like to visit the North of Scotland, Goldie and had planned to do so last year but then had to cancel because our aircon broke down and the repair had to be done at that time.

Yes, you're right. Work must come first because without it, holidays would be harder to afford! Work translates into money and money is needed to pay for holidays.

    listen to music

Picking up on a non-contentious bit of your post - what sort of music do you listen to? Do you both like the same music?

We have a large collection of CD's and Vinyl, copied onto the computer, so we can easily pick Playlists or artists or whole albums etc. It depends on my mood.

When we're away we have a smaller collection on my Ipad and a Bluetooth speaker.

I don't have any vinyl, Goldie but I do have quite a large collection of cds. The most recent ones that I purchased are Divide by Ed Sheeran, Camila by Camila Cabello and Brit Awards 2018 the Album. Yes, we both like the same music. We use the caravan built in radio/cd player.

Going to try and sort out my tyre sensors (tyre pal) today. Don't seem to be having a lot of luck with them lately. I am not sure they are up to our weather and road conditions. I was going to just monitor the van due to the failures, but decided to give them another chance as the price they were selling spare sensors for at the show was much reduced.

At least not so many cold calls today. We had a spate yesterday. All handled by the phone, which just rejects any numbers it does not recognise and asks if they want to leave a message, normally they don't. Out of interest I Googled a couple of numbers, came up as Microsoft scams. It amazes me they still try that one, as I would think most are aware of it by now, it has been running for years.

I keep getting those kind of calls too, SteveL. If I don't recognise the number on the screen, I don't answer the call.

No one is trying to drive you, H&T,  or anyone else away from CT, well I'm certainly not doing that anyway! If people decide to leave and use me as an excuse for doing so, I will defend myself in no uncertain terms. People are free to come and go as they wish as long as they don't stir up trouble by blaming me for it!

After last nights rain it was a very slippery walk through the woods and across the fields with Rosa,(not good with gammy knee even with walking stick),but much warmer and no need of topcoat now, , one thing we did see that I have never seen before were a "flock" of seven robins all feeding together in one little area in the woods,

Post just arrived with next years council tax bill it has gone up by £9 per month,( but still a lot cheaper than site feeswink)

We have typically had one cold call a year to our landline when at home. So rare that I often looked forward to them. I know that we have been fortunate.

Since November though we have had spates of calls from a call centre sounding environment claiming to be from BT and advising of unauthorized access by others to our router. Sometimes several calls a week and then nothing for a while. The callers are invariably Asian sounding.

When I have a spell of no calls I really miss them

Hoorah! We have running water again - what luxury! Carpets almost dried out so I don't think we're going to need to replace them. We were saying last night that it's a good job we decided to come down as soon as the park re-opened; if we'd left it until Easter I dread to think what state the van would have been in.

Park owners are still saying they have no financial obligation although I have an email from the manager saying quite clearly she accepts complete responsibility for not checking that the heating had been left on, so we'll have to wait and see when we get the bill for the repairs. frown

Why can't people just give and take. Maybe Malcolm shouldn't have kept on and on about Tammygirls holiday. Not everyone likes the same things, personally I would never want to live in a caravan but if he enjoys it good luck to him. I love my grandchildren more than anything and wouldn't be without the six of them for the world, they are the best things in my life, I feel sorry for Malcolm missing out on the love of his but again that's his decision. On the other hand Malcolm was previously accused of posting for stars now he is accused of posting too often, he obviously enjoys posting so if others aren't interested in what he posts then just ignore them. In the past Malcolm has usually accepted criticism with good grace. I don't agree with a lot of his views but he is entitled to them. Why is there a need to argue on what could be a pleasant forum, there is enough nastiness in the world so let's all just be nicer and give and take a bit more.
