Sat nav
Has anyone bought one of the sat navs sold on the club shop?
Have you used it in France?

I have an early Avtex Tourer One. I bought it as I was used to the Garmin range that it is a development of and so found it familiar and easy to get used to.
I believe it uses the same mapping as the viamichelin website, so you can look on your home computer in detail what your route will look like. I then often get my road atlas out and put post-it notes on the relevant pages.
I use it every year, mainly in France, and it has generally proved reliable.
It gives the option to choose toll or non-toll roads, something that I like.
Like all sat-navs it does have glitches were it may think it best to detour you off a bypass and through the village, but these occasions have been few. It definitely makes a lot less mistakes than me.
The updates include POI's on club sites, CL's, ACSI, various camper/motorhome databases etc and these mean you always have accurate site details.
It usually updates fine, but I have had to add an additional micro memory card a few years ago.

Don't discount 2nd hand, which is how I bought my version 1. I can see version 2 on Facebook marketplace at the moment for £100 to £180. If/when mine dies this is where I would look for a replacement.
