@huskydog No they will get exactly what they signed for. Seems totally fair to me.
But HD it's an offer, as as with all offers while it might be beneficial to some it's not done for one's benefit, it's for the club's benefit.
The idea of the offer is to get one to book something in August, I wonder how many that already have a booking will add a day on to get that offer for later? I've got such a booking, and if I add a day to it for a free day later on I've more or less lost or gained nothing. I usually do add a day or so on. And if my booking for later is going to be more expensive say over half term in October on a more expensive site (and SP) then I'll be in credit.
And of course there will also be people who are thinking of going away sometime in August who might now book with the club to get this offer rather than book elsewhere. This will be probably the main aim of this offer.
I certainly don't feel aggrieved than I booked ages ago for August and haven't been 'rewarded' in some way.
I'm sure there will be the remarks that the club is desperate for custom and hence the offer?

Just did some sums, if I was at Garlieston or Lower Wensleydale (which we have in past in August) at the moment and added a day on as a new booking and then used the free site to stay at Melrose in peak time in October on a SP then I'd be about £6 better off. Go for a super pitch at Chatsworth when it's most expensive then it's £10, £12 at Seacroft.
Just a silly example I know but…

Now you tell me. Just booked two days ago for Freshwater East, last day of August for five nights. Not able to book any other date in August due to other commitments. Never mind already benefit from £25 off for 5 nights or more and £4 off per night for grass pitch offers. Hey ho, can't be greedy.

You could always cancel a night or two and book a club site🤷🏻♂️

Nor for us either this time round. No plans to use a club, or any other, site after the end of current trip until early September. We have taken up the offer of a free night in the past but this offer doesn't work for us.

Every one that does use it is money for the club that it may not have got. To redeem it a two night stay is required which maybe/probably (see my post above) will be cheaper. It may be of interest to families who would get a one night's stay for all which may prove attractive over the half term(s).

Yes, that’s the idea I think, encourage August take up, then give a bit back. Mind, the number of Club Sites open after end of September will drop drastically as it gets nearer Christmas. It’s a bit of a complicated offer, lots of caveats………..

I wouldn't say drastically after the end of September though certainly yes after the end of October and the last half term, kids up go back early November .
I would think that a lot of people like to camp during September, it's now our favourite time, less (of those pesky kids😉) and quieter all round.

@Takethedogalong I think you're right about encouraging August take up, just had an email from CAMC telling me there is last minute availability at a campsite near me.
Not tempted I'm afraid though, despite the carrot of a free night.

Definitely no interest from us in booking a stay on a club site in August with, for us, the high cost of a night's stay then, even with the incentive of a free night's stay later in the year.
